Paul Hopman

Paul Hopman is an artist and illustrator, who’s taken then last 42 years to perfect the 19th Century art form of scratchboard. Scratchboard is an illustrative technique using a series of needles for etching into a thin layer of clay that is coated with black India ink. In removing the ink in a subtractive method, Paul creates a unique black & white work of art. However, Paul then proceeds to add color with fluorescent chalks and inks to archive a natural look.
